# Don’t Just Create Links in Your PKM. Archive Links and Everything Else.

In the vast landscape of note-taking, countless methods and discussions revolve around how to create links between notes, aiming to maintain a robust note graph. The ultimate goal is to **discover unexpected connections between notes in the future**, sparking new insights and inspiration. This concept is enticing and was a significant factor that drew me to explore the Zettelkasten method. However, early in my exploration, I quickly encountered a challenge: as the number of my notes grew, how could I maintain the links and the graph effectively? Especially if I had known four and a half years ago that today my Obsidian vault would contain over 8,000 notes, I might have felt even more overwhelmed.
